Rotary. Bettie brings over 30 years of banking experience to Algonquin Bank and Trust and most recently worked with GreatBank
in Algonquin for nearly 7 years and prior with the Suburban Bank
group in Barrington. During her banking career Bettie has been
involved in all areas of bank operation and has managed several
branch locations. Bettie has 2 children, a son Spiro who is an architect and a daughter Kitsa
who is a Special Education teacher in District 200. She resides
with her daughter and family in South Barrington. She is a proud
grandmother of Rena who is a recent graduate of University of
Indiana and Michael a sophomore at University of Illinois,
Champaign, Adam who is also a sophomore attending college in
California and Derek who is attending High School.

Stephen has a background in both making insurance policy coverage determinations and resolving coverage disputes. He also has experience directing civil litigation in a variety of areas of real estate, including title disputes, mortgage and mechanic lien foreclosures, and mortgage fraud. Prior to joining the firm, Stephen was a civil and criminal litigator in Bonney Lake, Washington. He was also an Assistant Vice President and in-house claims counsel for a title insurance company in Chicago, Illinois.
Stephen earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1995, and a J.D. from the Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1998. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the McHenry County Bar Association. |

Founded in 1981, Turning Point’s mission is to “Confront
Violence against Women and Children in McHenry County.” Turning
Point serves more than 1,700 women, children and men each year
in an effort to create a safe environment for families, and
diminish the effects of domestic violence on all family members.
In providing services to those experiencing violence, Turning
Point addresses the immediate and sometimes desperate needs of
clients. These needs may include crisis intervention, emergency
shelter, non-legal and legal advocacy, case management, food
pantry, programs for children and a “Partner Abuse Intervention
Program,” all of are provided by a bi-lingual and bi-cultural
staff
Incorporated on May 20, 1981, Turning Point received its
501(c)(3) status in April 1983. Since its inception, Turning
Point has developed innovative programs that take advantage of
domestic violence laws, increasing the quantity and enhancing
the quality of services available to clients. As well, its years
of service have created long-time alliances, partnerships and
linkages in the county that result in comprehensive assistance
and protection for battered women and children. Turning Point
works with area police departments, healthcare providers, social
service agencies, schools and colleges, and other governmental
agencies. By educating police officers, the States Attorney’s
office, the court system, medical personnel, and other critical
services, Turning Point strengthens the capacity of the county
to help resolve serious social problems that result from
domestic violence.
Women constitute the overwhelming majority of people who
experience the crime of domestic violence, a crime that crosses
all economic, cultural, religious, racial, ethnic, and
educational barriers. All services are available in English and
Spanish.
